| Important Information |
| SAA HAS asked passengers to allow enough time to travel to Johannesburg
International Airport, as there are road works on the R24 highway. SAA said it
has been told that construction will be carried out on weekends between 07h00
and 15h00 until the end of June. SAA suggested that passengers use alternative
routes or add at least 30 minutes to normal travelling time. SAA also now
closes check-in for domestic flights 30 minutes and international flights 50
minutes before departure. Check-in for SAA’s flights to and from Lagos and
Luanda close one hour prior to departure. “Please ensure that you leave home
early enough to allow for any delays caused by road works on the R24 highway.
Arriving for check-in at the times advised will assist in ensuring a convenient
and stress-free travel experience,” said Jacqui O’Sullivan, SAA head of
corporate communications.

Please note that South African Temporary passports issued after 19 April 2006
are no longer acceptable for entry into the United Kingdom.
However, any passenger holding a South African Temporary Passport issued on or
before 19 April 2006 will be able to use this for travel to the United Kingdom
providing the airline ticket has already been purchased or will be purchased
before 10 May 2006.
If the tickets are not purchased before 10 May 2006, but the passenger is to
arrive in the UK between 11 and 30 May 2006, a South African Temporary Passport
(issued before 19 April 2006) may still be used, provided that person has first
obtained an United Kingdom visa (via the High Commission's outsourcing partner
DHL - www.britishvisas.co.za).
From1 June 2006, South African Temporary Passports will not be valid for travel
to the United Kingdom.
ANYONE requiring a British passport for travel before June 5 must apply before
May 12. The British government is introducing a new biometric passport and the
new passport system will be installed at the British High Commission in
Pretoria from May 22.
The installation will take approximately two weeks to complete and will disrupt
the issuing of passports. The new biometric passport will cost more to produce
and the passport fee will be increased.
